Job Description

The Network Architect is responsible for designing, planning, and implementing the organization’s computer network infrastructure. They will work closely with the IT team, vendors, and other stakeholders to identify business requirements and design network solutions that meet those needs. The Network Architect will also be responsible for evaluating new technologies, managing network performance and capacity, and ensuring network security and compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network architecture and design, with experience managing complex network infrastructures.
Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and VPNs.
Experience with network security protocols and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
Knowledge of network management tools, such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Nagios.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement network solutions that meet business needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other IT team members and stakeholders.
Industry certifications such as CCIE, CCDE, or Network+ are preferred.

Must Have

Design and plan network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, to meet business needs and requirements.
Develop network architecture and technology standards, and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Evaluate new technologies and solutions, and recommend upgrades and enhancements to network infrastructure.
Collaborate with IT team members, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of network solutions.
Manage network performance and capacity, and proactively identify and resolve network issues.
Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and ensure network availability and resilience.
Implement and maintain network security protocols and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
Provide technical guidance and support to IT team members and stakeholders, and ensure successful knowledge transfer.
Maintain network documentation and diagrams, and provide regular status reports to management.
