Job Description

The Network Operations Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure. They will work closely with network architects, system administrators, and other stakeholders to monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement changes and upgrades. The Network Operations Engineer will also be responsible for ensuring network security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in network operations, with experience monitoring and troubleshooting network issues and implementing changes and upgrades.
Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN.
Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SNMP, NetFlow, and Nagios.
Knowledge of network security protocols and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with network architects, system administrators, and other stakeholders.
Network certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA), are preferred.

Must Have

Monitor network performance, and identify and troubleshoot issues and outages in a timely manner.
Implement changes and upgrades to the network infrastructure, and ensure that all changes are documented and tracked.
Collaborate with network architects and system administrators to ensure that the network infrastructure is optimized for performance and reliability.
Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Implement and maintain network monitoring and management tools, such as SNMP, NetFlow, and Nagios.
Provide technical support to end users and other stakeholders, and ensure successful knowledge transfer.
Participate in the evaluation and selection of new network technologies and solutions.
